RFP Grant Manager

Job Summary:

This position requires a self-starter who takes initiative and aggressively drives and leads a comprehensive grant writing program that includes RFP, RFI and RFQ solicitations, as well as management of ongoing rebate and incentive programs at the state, local, and utility levels.  This includes planning, researching, prospecting, writing and securing unrestricted and restricted operating revenue from individual, corporate, and government sources. Included responsibilities are submitting timely and accurate grants, proposals, applications, and reports for all new and existing public and private grants; drafting and negotiating agreements and providing prospect research and reporting tracked via CRM and other management systems, and administration of rebate and incentive programs.

The most crucial part of the position is to identify potential grant support from government agencies, foundations, and corporations to meet the financial and operational needs of the organization. This includes helping the organization focus its marketing and sales activities on appropriate regions to maximize the potential value of ongoing rebate and incentive programs.  It requires a methodological and analytical approach to meet such requirements. Candidate will have ability to have clear communication of proper rules and regulations for approving grants, its specifications, requirements and objectives across all departments of the organization and the management.

  • Analyze the budget trends and make recommendations for cost control and reduction for various grants[PH1] 

  • Provide detailed reports to the funders and the board of directors [PH2] with respect to the organization's progress

  • Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded programs

  • Maintain records of all payments and receivables and prepare monthly records for all grant related activities

  • Submit, process, follow-up, and secure rebates and incentives on an on-going basis to support direct sales activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Grants / RFP/RFI/RFQ Management

  • Manage and write all public and private grants, reports and evaluations in collaboration with other key stakeholders

  • Grant writing and research, responding to RFPs in a timely manner (completed). RFP/RFI/RFQ solicitations, new initiatives, and improving EVSE charging infrastructure efforts.

  • Managing and supporting the grants requirement and implementation for the organization secure government contracting opportunities on local, State and Federal levels.

  • Other work includes competitor analysis, marketing, steering committee, brainstorming sessions, scheduling, team facilitation and member management

  • strategies, policy and procedure development, conflict resolution, complex project planning and risk management.

  • Budget planning and preparation, develop and prepare timelines, cost analysis, seminars, event planning, presentations

  • Perform, evaluate and lead all funding prospect research for individuals, government and corporations to align funding requests

  • Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to identify, prepare, submit, and manage proposals to government and corporate sources in a timely and accurate manner, effectively communicating the company solution and funding request

  • Manage, coordinate and track all grants and prospects based on moves management methodology

  • Work with members of the sales, marketing, accounting, and legal to prepare agreements, program descriptions, budgets and other materials as required for proposals and reports

  • Participate in the cultivation and stewardship of government and corporate donors at all levels

  • Comply with all grant reporting as required by government/corporate donors

 

Operations Management

  • Work with current funding sources to provide regular written updates to corporate and government grantors (track invoicing, prepare written materials necessary for reporting, provide ongoing grant support)

  • Manage and maintain a schedule of grant submission and provide required reports

  • Maintain current CRM records in CRM and other key systems and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting

  • Assist with other projects as requested

  • Represent the company as needed, including assistance with special events

  • Other duties as required

  • Minimal travel required, occasionally may be required to work nights and weekends

Education, Certification, Skills, and Experience:

  • Positive “Can Do” Attitude

  • Bachelor’s degree and fundraising certification a plus; Master’s degree preferred

  • Minimum of five years’ experience with federal, private and corporate grant writing

  • Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors

  • Written communication skills: ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals and agreements

  • Strong editing, research, logic, commons sense, presentation, and writing skills

  • Aggressive attention to detail

  • Ability to meet deadlines without supervision

  • Knowledge of grant, RFP, RFI, and government funding information sources

  • Knowledge of basic grant writing techniques and strategies

  • Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for prospect research

  • Strong contributor in team environments

  • Demonstrated ability to compose strong, clearly written and persuasive materials with demonstrated attention to detail, including general correspondence and major proposals that articulate funding priorities. Experience working in deadline-driven environments

  • Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and completing tasks in a timely manner

  • Knowledge of research resources for foundation and fundraising

  • Able to monitor and meet funding goals

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional travel, weekend and/or evening work.
